Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Costing of parts under new development, ECN, after getting all details as per freezed format under Sheet metal, casting, forging, fasteners, Plastic, rubber, Proprietary and WH commodities
Study and review price impact due to RM revision for sheet metal, casting, forging & machining parts as per OEM settlement.
Review of supplementary provision to FAC for increase/decrease,
Review of MIS for Price Revision w.r.t RM, ECN, Process and other content.
Gross weight validation of major sheet metal, forging, casting, wiring harness (Copper), Plastic parts, actualization of new development components.
Overall Liasioning with vendors for cost cutting, renegotiation etc.
Data collection of costing norms of other OEM's
Accounts reconciliation/SAP /5S activities.
Quality Improvements, organising tech days.
Experience
15 years and beyond in the similar industry preferred.
Industry Preferred
Commercial vehicle/ Automotive Industry
Qualifications
B.Tech/ M.Tech preferred.
No Diploma holders.
General Requirements
6–10 years of experience in automotive product costing, strategic sourcing, or cost engineering.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including Sheet Metal, Casting, Forging, Machining, Plastic, Rubber, Fasteners, Proprietary Parts, and Wiring Harness.
Hands-on experience in should-cost analysis, cost estimation, value engineering, and cost breakdown preparation.
Good understanding of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), new product development (NPD), and APQP/product development processes.
Experience in Raw Material (RM) price revision, Formula-Based Price Adjustment (FAC), supplier negotiations, and price settlements.
Ability to validate component weights, manufacturing processes, and material consumption.
Working knowledge of SAP (MM/PP) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred).
Experience in preparing MIS reports, cost analytics, and management presentations.
Strong vendor management, commercial negotiation, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of automotive quality systems such as IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, and DFMEA/PFMEA is desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Willingness to travel to supplier locations for technical reviews, audits, and cost discussions.
