Production Planning & Execution
- Execute daily and weekly production plans as per customer requirements.
- Ensure optimum utilization of extrusion presses, handling systems, and manpower.
- Monitor production output against planned targets and take corrective actions to minimize deviations.
- Coordinate with Die Shop, Billet, Anodizing, Powder Coating, Packing, and Dispatch teams for smooth production flow.
- Ensure timely completion of production orders with minimum rejection.
Process Monitoring
- Monitor extrusion parameters such as billet temperature, die temperature, ram speed, pressure, and cooling process.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Improve productivity by reducing cycle time, scrap generation, and process losses.
- Ensure proper handling and identification of work-in-progress (WIP).
Quality Management
- Coordinate with the Quality department to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Investigate production defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap levels and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and documentation.
Team Management
- Supervise production operators, supervisors, helpers, and shift personnel.
- Allocate manpower effectively across production lines.
- Conduct shift meetings and monitor employee performance.
- Train employees on production processes, safety practices, and quality requirements.
- Maintain discipline and encourage teamwork on the shop floor.
Machine & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure machine availability.
- Report equipment breakdowns and follow up for timely resolution.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and machine utilization.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, PPE usage, and statutory regulations.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices (5S) throughout the production area.
- Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a zero-accident and safe working culture.
Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor consumption of billets, dies, packing materials, and production consumables.
- Coordinate with Stores for uninterrupted material availability.
- Minimize material wastage and optimize yield.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily production reports, shift reports, rejection reports, and downtime reports.

- Maintain accurate production records and process documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Additional certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is an advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in aluminium extrusion manufacturing.
- Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or production leadership role.
- Experience with extrusion presses ranging from 800 MT to 3000 MT is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of aluminium extrusion processes.
- Understanding of billet heating, die management, stretching, cutting, ageing, and profile handling.
- Knowledge of production planning and capacity utilization.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, ERPNext, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Good understanding of quality tools, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems and workplace safety standards.
