Job Description
Operational Oversight Manage day-to-day accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, approvals, payments, and issue resolution. Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and payment terms. Monitor end-to-end AP workflows (PO and Non-PO based) and ensure SLAs are met. 2. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AP specialists, team leads, or associates. Conduct performance reviews, set KPIs, and ensure a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Manage team capacity, training needs, and ensure high employee engagement. 3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders (finance, procurement, operations) and external vendors. Resolve escalations related to invoice discrepancies, late payments, and vendor queries. Maintain strong relationships with key vendors to ensure smooth payment operations. 4. Process Excellence & Automation Identify opportunities to streamline and automate AP processes using digital tools (e.g., OCR, RPA). Drive standardization and best practices across AP operations. Support implementation and maintenance of AP-related systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba). 5. Governance, Risk & Compliance Ensure all AP processes adhere to internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requirements. Oversee documentation of policies, procedures, and compliance checkpoints. Facilitate internal and external audits related to payables. 6. Reporting & Analysis Provide regular reporting on AP metrics such as invoice processing time, aged payables, DPO (Days Payable Outstanding), and exception rates. Analyze trends and provide insights to improve working capital and payment efficiency. Track cost savings or value delivered through process improvements or vendor negotiations. 7. Service Delivery Management Define and monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs). Drive operational reviews with stakeholders and ensure corrective actions for gaps. Manage governance dashboards, operational excellence reviews, and scorecards.
