We are looking for a talented IT InfoSec & Technical Specialist to lead and strengthen our information security and IT operations while ensuring our systems remain secure, reliable, and compliant with ISO 27001 standards.
In this role, you will own end-to-end information systems security processes, from identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities across our infrastructure to managing endpoint security, firewalls, antivirus solutions, patch management, intrusion detection, and data protection controls. You will also play a key role in implementing and maintaining organizational security policies, improving the reliability of our IT systems, supporting ISO 27001 compliance and recertification, and advising senior leadership on cybersecurity risks and best practices.
As a member of the IT team, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking, partnering with cross-functional teams to build a strong security-first culture across The Scalers.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee enterprise security systems; detect, respond to, and resolve security incidents.

Protect company assets with new security strategies, monitoring controls, and ongoing evaluation.

Perform vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats.

Configure and support security tools, such as MDM (JumpCloud), firewalls, and anti-virus software.

Coordinate and implement monthly patching of all devices & VAPT.

Analyse security requirements, then recommend and implement relevant tools and processes across the organisation.

Conduct local Security Awareness sessions and phishing susceptibility campaigns.

Implement and maintain organisational security policies and procedures (ensuring ISO 27001 compliance and recertifications).
Technical Requirements:
-
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and mitigate advanced technical issues on operating systems (Windows/macOS), including account setup and network configuration.

Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking in a timely and accurate fashion.

Set up devices and assets for new joiners and manage the complete IT asset tracking system.

Acquire new software and hardware, negotiate service contracts, and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.

Act as an expert for infrastructure teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions.

Customise desktop applications to meet user needs and conduct remote troubleshooting.

Prioritise and manage several open issues, directing unresolved issues to the appropriate personnel if necessary.

Ensure excellent technical documentation and knowledge management (creating manuals and logs) for the benefit of internal stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills and full professional fluency in English: you'll be a senior face of The Scalers in writing, on calls, and in person
Leadership & Strategy:

Make strategic decisions and recommendations that significantly impact the IT/Engineering team and the wider organisation and new partnerships.

Advise senior management on the organisation's cybersecurity status and strategies to improve the reliability of IT systems.

Closely work with team members to set and monitor KPIs, while also acting as a hands-on individual contributor.

Train team members to understand and use security protocols and mentor the team toward excellence.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Proven experience as an IT Administrator, Desktop Support Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer.

5+ years of proven experience in System Security and Administration, setting up security systems and ensuring company-wide adherence.

Hands-on experience with advanced troubleshooting for Windows and macOS. Good knowledge of current hardware and software across various devices.

Experience administering SaaS tools (G-Suite, Slack, Notion, KEKA, G-Authenticator, etc.) and working with MDM solutions (specifically JumpCloud, Sophos) & VAPT.

Good Understanding in Data Protection & Data Security, GDPR

Excellent presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to speak clearly to a non-technical audience about technical problems and provide step-by-step help.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Systems (or a similar technical field) is a huge advantage.

Additional certifications in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, or similar technologies are a plus.

Huge advantage if you have worked in a company that is ISO 27001 certified and have an in-depth understanding of ISO standards.

Ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams; experience working with an international team is an added advantage.
