Role Objective
The Assistant Manager – Commercial will serve as the critical link between the technical testing department and commercial operations. This role involves managing the end-to-end lifecycle of testing inquiries—from quotation and material coordination to final invoicing—ensuring seamless internal communication and high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial & Quotation Management

Customer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.

ERP Administration: Generate and manage accurate quotations within the ERP system.

Invoicing: Oversee the timely raising of testing invoices upon project completion and follow up on payment milestones.
2. Operational & Testing Oversight

Testing Coordination: Schedule tests in alignment with laboratory availability and client timelines.

Material Management: Proactively arrange end fitting materials and coordinate all necessary supplies for T2 testing ends.

Consumables Tracking: Monitor and coordinate the testing of consumables to ensure no delays in the testing cycle.
3. Internal Liaison & Documentation

Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Design, Stores, Projects, Production, and Accounts departments to ensure resource availability and process flow.

Records Management: Maintain meticulous documentation of test reports, commercial contracts, and compliance papers.

Reporting: Prepare comprehensive MIS reports and PowerPoint presentations for management review.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience: 5–7 years of experience in a sales back-office or commercial coordination role.

Industry Background: Previous experience in a technical product/service company (e.g., Refrigeration, DG sets, or Heavy Engineering) is highly preferred.
Technical & Soft Skills

Proficiency in ERP software and MS Office (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint).

Strong understanding of commercial terms, taxation, and technical specifications.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and customers.

High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

Turnaround time (TAT) for inquiry replies and quotation generation.
