The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company’s payment network. The newly created U.S. Merchant Marketing, Global Marketing Execution & Analytics (UMGEA) team is responsible for leveraging marketing and analytics capabilities to drive sustainable growth through customer, partner, and product insights that inform the merchant value proposition, channel strategy, and investment optimization, while leveraging the full range of enterprise assets and partnerships for GMNS customers and ensuring we remain compliant as a network. The GMNS Analytics team within UMGEA is responsible for partnering with global markets to drive profitable growth, accelerating acceptance and amplifying the value of Amex acceptance to Merchants, bank partners and Card Members at scale. We offer powerful data and actionable insights to attract new businesses to engage with Amex, help existing businesses improve performance and capitalize on new opportunities.
Description:
The UMGEA – Global Analytics team is seeking an Analyst to lead development, delivery, and scaling of analytical solutions that support marketing target strategy, marketing measurement, and investment planning / optimization across GMNS and partner teams. The role will support analytics across various marketing lifecycles, including audience identification, targeting strategy, campaign measurement, performance diagnostics, and optimization recommendations. The Analyst will work across the analytics lifecycle, from problem definition and data analysis to insight generation, storytelling, and recommendation development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in an analytical domain.
- Intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to derive insights from data, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous business questions.
- Strong collaboration skills with ability to build relationships across teams and challenge the status quo.
- Excellent business writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Hive, SAS, and Advanced Excel required.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, VBA, or similar visualization / automation tools is preferred.
Experience in marketing analytics, campaign measurement, target strategy, investment planning / optimization, or financial services analytics is preferred.

Academic Background:
- Bachelors in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Engineering/Data Science with relevant experience.
- Post Graduation in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Engineering/Management is a plus.
Shift timing would be 1 PM to 9 :30 PM
