Job Summary:
As a Billing Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and monitoring invoices and financial statements for construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure accurate billing and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Billing Preparation and Review:
- Prepare accurate and timely billing invoices based on contracts and project milestones.
- Review billing data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with contract terms.
- Coordinate with project managers to verify work completed and materials used for billing purposes.
- Cost Control and Monitoring:
- Track project costs and expenses to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Analyze cost variations and report deviations to management.
- Assist in forecasting project costs and preparing cost estimates for future projects.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, invoices, and contracts.
- Prepare and submit financial reports, including billing summaries and project financial status updates.
- Compile documentation for audits and assist in audit processes as required.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Communicate billing procedures and requirements to project stakeholders.
- Provide support to finance and accounts teams regarding billing inquiries and reconciliations.
- Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement best practices for billing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Billing Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or similar role in the construction industry.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, billing procedures, and project costing.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying.
