Key Responsibilities
1. Lab Layout Drafting: Prepare accurate 2D laboratory layouts and isometric views of laboratory furniture in AutoCAD, based on client briefs, RFPs, and site measurements supplied by the sales team.
2. 3D Visualisation for Quotations: Create 3D views of lab furniture, fume hoods, workstations, and complete laboratory rooms using SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Blender, etc., to be embedded in quotations and client proposals.
3. Quotation Document Build-up: Work alongside the Estimation Executive to translate the approved design into a structured Bill of Quantities (BOQ) — listing furniture, fittings, fixtures, utilities, and accessories with correct specifications.
4. Price Calculation Support: Assist in preparing the budgetary proposal of approved furniture designs by pulling product specifications and standard rates from the internal catalogue and Zoho Books.
5. Detailed Project Report (DPR): Compile furniture designs, technical specifications, layouts, 3D visuals, and pricing into a single, professionally branded client presentation document, in line with Labkafe brand guidelines.
6. Revisions & Iterations: Quickly turn around design and quotation revisions based on internal review, client feedback, and on-site changes — without losing version control.
7. Site Visits (case-to-case basis): Travel to client sites in Kolkata and occasionally outside, to assist seniors with measurement, verification of services (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), and post-design validation.
8. Timeline Management: Handle multiple quotations in parallel after the initial training period, prioritising deliverables to meet sales deadlines without compromising drawing quality.
9. Internal Coordination: Liaise daily with Sales, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure that what is quoted is producible, available, and within agreed margins.
4. Skills & Tools
The role is heavily software-driven. We expect comfort with the must-have stack on Day 1, and willingness to grow into the good-to-have stack over the first 6–12 months.
