Role Overview
The Head – Design & Estimation will lead and drive the organization’s design strategy and cost management functions. This role is responsible for overseeing the complete design lifecycle and estimation process, ensuring innovative, practical, and cost-efficient solutions for interior fit-out projects. The position plays a critical role in supporting business development, strengthening project profitability, and ensuring seamless coordination between design, sales, procurement, and project execution teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Design Leadership
- Lead the design function by developing creative, functional, and cost-effective design solutions aligned with client requirements and company standards.
- Establish design guidelines, standards, and best practices across projects.
- Ensure design feasibility, quality, and compliance with project scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize design efficiency and project costs.
Estimation & Commercial Strategy
- Oversee the preparation and review of accurate BOQs, project cost estimates, and commercial proposals.
- Develop cost benchmarks, standard rate analysis, and estimation templates to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure competitive pricing strategies while maintaining project profitability.
- Monitor cost trends, material rates, and project financial viability.
· 'Analyse and evaluate the Cost incurred in the Individual projects and submit monthly MIS to management on the Project profitability
Business Development & Proposal Support
- Collaborate with the sales and business development teams in project acquisition, tender submissions, and client presentations.
- Review tender documents, project scope, and technical specifications to ensure accurate proposal submissions.
- Provide strategic input during negotiations and project finalization.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with project management, procurement, and site teams to ensure alignment between design intent, cost estimates, and execution.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions during project execution to address design or cost-related challenges.
- Ensure smooth design-to-execution transition across projects.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing design and estimation team.
- Define departmental goals, monitor team performance, and drive productivity improvements.
- Encourage innovation, technical development, and continuous learning within the team.
- Train and develop a team of Engineers to ensure the key deliverables
Process Excellence & Governance
- Establish robust systems for design documentation, estimation procedures, and project cost control.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance in all design and estimation deliverables.
- Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and strengthen project outcomes.
Key Skills & Competencies

Software & Technical Knowledge
- AutoCAD / SketchUp / Revit or equivalent design software
- Advanced MS Excel for estimation and cost analysis
- ERP / SAP knowledge is an added advantage

Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
