Job Summary
The Hospital Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the hospital, ensuring efficient service delivery, regulatory compliance, patient satisfaction, and optimal utilization of resources. The role involves coordinating with all departments to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of all hospital departments.
- Ensure smooth coordination between medical, nursing, HR, finance, housekeeping, maintenance, security, and support services.
- Implement and monitor hospital policies, SOPs, and operational protocols.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, statutory regulations, and government guidelines.
- Monitor patient care services and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Supervise departmental performance and conduct regular review meetings.
- Manage manpower planning, staff scheduling, and interdepartmental coordination.
- Monitor hospital infrastructure, equipment maintenance, and facility management.
- Coordinate with consultants and department heads to improve operational efficiency.
- Handle patient complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor hospital occupancy, patient flow, admissions, discharges, and turnaround times.
- Ensure proper inventory management and coordination with the purchase and stores departments.
- Prepare operational reports, MIS, and performance dashboards for management.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and accreditation activities.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, biomedical waste management, fire safety, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Promote a culture of discipline, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Master's Degree in Hospital Administration (MHA) / Hospital Management (MHM) / MBA in Healthcare Management.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred).
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in hospital administration or healthcare management.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be preferred.
