Job Description – Physical DirectorPurpose
To plan, organize, and supervise all physical education, sports, games, and fitness activities across the schools, fostering students' physical, mental, and social well-being while promoting discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Key Responsibilities1. Physical Education
- Plan and conduct physical education classes in accordance with the curriculum of the schools.
- Develop students' physical fitness, motor skills, coordination, and overall health.
- Assess and evaluate students' performance in physical education activities.
- Maintain records of attendance, assessments, and progress.
2. Sports & Games Management
- Organize and supervise indoor and outdoor sports activities across the schools.
- Identify and nurture talented students for competitive sports.
- Prepare students for inter-school, district, state, and national level competitions.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions and fitness training.
3. Annual Sports Events
- Plan and coordinate the Annual Sports Day and other sports-related events for the schools.
- Organize house competitions, tournaments, athletic meets, and recreational activities.
- Coordinate fixtures, schedules, and event logistics.
4. Student Development
- Promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
- Encourage participation of all students in physical activities.
- Guide students on healthy lifestyle practices and physical fitness.
5. Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure safe conduct of all sports and physical activities.
- Conduct warm-up and cool-down sessions before and after activities.
- Monitor students to prevent injuries.
- Ensure first aid facilities are available during sports events.
- Report accidents or injuries promptly to the school administration.
6. Sports Equipment & Facilities
- Maintain inventory of sports equipment.
- Ensure proper care, storage, and maintenance of sports materials.
- Inspect playgrounds and sports facilities regularly.
- Raise requisitions for purchase or replacement of sports equipment.
7. Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare annual sports calendars and activity plans for the schools.
- Maintain records of student participation and achievements.
- Prepare reports on sports activities and competitions.
- Coordinate with teachers for the smooth conduct of sports programmes.
8. Parent & Community Engagement
- Communicate students' achievements to parents.
- Coordinate with external coaches, sports associations, and event organizers when required.
- Encourage parent participation during major sports events.
9. Compliance
- Ensure compliance with school policies and safety guidelines.
- Follow CBSE/State Board norms relating to Physical Education.
- Support school initiatives promoting student wellness and holistic development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Master's Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.).
- B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. recognized by the appropriate regulatory authority.
- Additional certifications in coaching, athletics, or fitness training will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in teaching Physical Education in schools.
- Experience in organizing sports events and coaching school teams is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Work involves indoor and outdoor activities.
