Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced EDM Operator to operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) machines for manufacturing precision molds, dies, and tooling components. The candidate should have experience in setting, operating, and maintaining EDM machines while ensuring quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate EDM machines for machining precision mold and die components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
- Select and mount electrodes, set machining parameters, and monitor machining operations.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Achieve required dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per drawing specifications.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with the Design, CNC/VMC, and Quality teams to ensure timely job completion.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain 5S standards in the work area.
- Record production and inspection data as required.
Required Skills
- Experience operating EDM machines in a mold and die or tool room environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
- Knowledge of EDM machining parameters, electrodes, and tooling.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
Qualification
- ITI Machinist/Tool & Die Maker, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 1–4 years of experience in EDM machining, preferably in the Mold & Die industry.
Salary: Best in the industry (based on experience and skills).
