Senior Press Tool Designer
Suntek Tooling is seeking an expert Press Tool Designer to lead the design and development of high-precision tooling for sheet metal components. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of tool construction, material behavior, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Excellence: Full design of Draw Dies, Form Dies, Cam Dies, Blanking Dies, and complex Progressive Dies.
- Feasibility & Analysis: Perform thorough feasibility studies of component drawings, including DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFMEA.
- Technical Calculations: Handle all load calculations, strip layouts, and blank developments ensuring strict adherence to drawing tolerances.
- Process Engineering: Work out complete manufacturing processes, interpret simulation reports, and understand formability limits.
- RFQ Support: Assist in RFQ (Request for Quote) working by providing technical insights and tool standards.
- Material Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of Tool Steels (D2, D3, HCHCR, etc.), standard elements, and various sheet metal grades.
- Shop Floor Synergy: Leverage knowledge of VMC and general machining processes to ensure designs are optimized for our manufacturing facility.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Press Tool Design within a tool room environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting complex sheet metal component drawings.
- Strong command of Tooling Standards and Standard Elements.
- Expertise in CAD software for 3D modeling and 2D detailing.
