Job Title: Diesel Mechanic / Service Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, diagnostics, repair, and routine maintenance of diesel engines, power generators, and related mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting abilities, a deep understanding of diesel fuel systems, and a strict commitment to maintaining workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines, components, and electrical systems to accurately identify mechanical and electronic faults.
- Maintenance & Service: Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and belt adjustments.
- Repairs & Overhauling: Repair, rebuild, or replace defective engine parts such as fuel injectors, pumps, turbochargers, pistons, and valves.
- System Inspections: Inspect and service cooling systems, exhaust systems, and electrical configurations to ensure optimal performance.
- Testing: Conduct load testing and operational checks post-repair to verify that equipment meets manufacturer specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate logs of all service work, parts used, and technical findings.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, proper handling of hazardous materials, and correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: ITI Certification or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Fresher & 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or technician (experience with industrial engines or commercial diesel generators is highly preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Strong familiarity with modern diagnostic tools and software.
- Deep knowledge of diesel engine components, fuel injection systems, and mechanical timing.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in industrial environment conditions.
