Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing organisation in the optical industry, specialising in the production of high-quality lenses, frames, and related optical products.The company is committed to precision, innovation, and excellence in manufacturing standards.
We are seeking an experienced and result-driven Production Manager to oversee and optimise manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across operations. This role is based in Marthandam, Tamil Nadu.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end production operations
- Ensure production targets are achieved in line with quality, cost, and delivery standards
- Monitor and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and productivity
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures and standards
- Manage production teams, including supervision, training, and performance management
- Optimise resource utilisation, including manpower, machinery, and materials
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and quality assurance teams
- Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Prepare production reports and provide insights to senior management
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field
- Diploma holders with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing/production management (experience in optical, plastic, or precision manufacturing preferred)
- Strong understanding of production planning, process optimisation, and quality management systems
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Familiarity with manufacturing technologies and equipment used in optical or frame production is an added advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and performance-driven environment
Preferred Criteria
Candidates with prior experience in the optical or similar precision manufacturing industry will be given preference
