Job Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medicines accurately, maintaining pharmacy inventory, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and providing medication-related support to doctors, nurses, and patients while maintaining high standards of patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines as per valid prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy and dosage.
- Maintain stock, inventory, and expiry records.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines as per guidelines.
- Maintain narcotic and controlled drug registers.
- Raise purchase requisitions and coordinate with vendors.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, and precautions.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication availability.
- Maintain pharmacy documentation and billing records.
- Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Council and hospital policies.
- Participate in stock audits and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
