Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Social Science (SST) Teacher for Classes X. The ideal candidate should possess strong subject expertise across History, Geography, Civics, and Economics, along with the ability to make learning engaging, interactive, and relevant through real-world applications and inquiry-based teaching.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
· Teach Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, and Economics) in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
· Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
· Deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and civic awareness.
· Connect classroom learning with current affairs, environmental issues, and real-world applications.
· Ensure timely completion of the syllabus and conduct remedial or enrichment classes as required.
Student Development
· Encourage participation in debates, quizzes, Model United Nations (MUNs), social science exhibitions, heritage projects, and awareness programmes.
· Foster research, communication, leadership, and presentation skills through interactive learning activities.
· Guide students in project-based learning, collaborative discussions, and interdisciplinary activities.
· Mentor students to become responsible citizens with an appreciation for history, culture, geography, governance, and society.
Assessment & Classroom Management
· Conduct formative and summative assessments, projects, and assignments in line with CBSE guidelines.
· Evaluate student performance and maintain academic records.
· Create a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
· Provide timely feedback to students and maintain effective communication with parents through PTMs and academic discussions.
Technology Integration & Administration
· Utilize Smart Boards, LMS, Google Workspace, digital maps, multimedia resources, and other educational technology tools to enhance classroom learning.
· Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, school events, examinations, and professional development programmes.
· Contribute to academic initiatives, social science activities, field visits, and the development of teaching resources.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
· Bachelor's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Social Science, Humanities, or a related discipline.
· B.Ed. is mandatory.
· Master's Degree in any Social Science subject will be an added advantage.
Experience
· 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school.
· Experience teaching Social Science for Classes VI–X is preferred.
· Experience in project-based learning, MUNs, debates, or social science exhibitions will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
· Strong understanding of History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and the CBSE Social Science curriculum.
· Ability to make Social Science engaging through discussions, projects, case studies, and real-world examples.
· Excellent lesson planning, classroom management, and communication skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, Smart Boards, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
· Passion for social science education, student development, and continuous professional learning.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
