Primary Responsibilities:

Administer MySQL environments (5.6/5.7/8.0) across Linux servers in dev, test, and prod

Monitor replication (GTID, semi-sync), slow queries, and performance metrics

Perform version upgrades, schema changes, and migrations to GCP Cloud SQL or Azure MySQL Flexible Server

Automate health checks, backups, and monitoring tasks using Shell or Python scripts

Troubleshoot application database issues, participate in on-call rotation, and coordinate with developers

Support Tier 1 engineers with escalation handling and process documentation

Provision MySQL infrastructure using Terraform or deployment pipelines

Maintain documentation: SOPs, access control, replication setups, and recovery procedures

Collaborate with ESRO teams for audit and security compliance activities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant fields

8+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA supporting production systems

Solid knowledge of InnoDB engine, indexing, query optimization, and configuration tuning

Experience with MySQL replication, backup strategies (XtraBackup/Percona), and PITR

Proficient in Linux OS, Shell/Python scripting, and automation practices
-
Cloud experience with GCP Cloud SQL, Azure MySQL Flexible Server, or AWS RDS

Exposure to Terraform or similar IaC tools for provisioning and configuration

Familiarity with operational monitoring tools (Percona Toolkit, custom scripts, cloud-native tools)

Experience in on-call duties, release support, and Tier 1 team collaboration
