The Senior Reservation and Ticketing Executive will oversee and manage the booking and ticketing operations for air, rail, and other travel services. This role requires expertise in reservation systems, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle complex itineraries efficiently. The executive will also mentor junior staff and ensure smooth operations in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Reservations & Ticketing team on a daily basis.
- Allocate workloads and ensure timely completion of all ticketing requests.
- Monitor GDS queues throughout the day and ensure all schedule changes, cancellations, remarks, and airline messages are actioned promptly.
- Assist staff with complex flight bookings, reissues, refunds, cancellations, exchanges, and fare calculations.
- Ensure all bookings comply with airline policies and company SOPs.
- Monitor ticketing deadlines, fare expiries, queues, time limits, and ADM prevention.
- Provide support for domestic and international flight reservations.
- Handle escalated customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Train, mentor, and coach new and existing team members.
- Conduct regular quality checks on reservations and ticketing accuracy.
- Ensure web check-in is completed for all passengers where applicable.
- Ensure passengers are informed immediately of any schedule changes or airline updates.
- Coordinate with airlines, consolidators, and suppliers regarding booking issues.
- Monitor team productivity and daily performance.
- Prepare daily and monthly MIS reports.
- Ensure proper documentation of bookings, refunds, and customer communications.
- Support the sales team in achieving monthly revenue targets.
- Encourage excellent customer service and promote customer referrals and online reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
- IATA/UFTAA certification will be an added advantage.
- Travelport Galileo, Amadeus, or Sabre certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3years of experience in Airline Reservations & Ticketing
- Experience in an IATA Travel Agency is highly preferred.
- Strong experience with international fare construction and ticketing.
- Experience handling corporate travel will be an advantage.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of Travelport Galileo, Amadeus, or Sabre GDS.
- Strong understanding of airline fares, ticketing rules, exchanges, refunds, reissues, and ADM prevention.
- Knowledge of BSP procedures and airline policies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced travel environment.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
