Principal Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design textile machinery, components and systems using 3D software.
- Develop technical specifications, design calculations and schematics for machinery and related systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and design analysis to ensure machines meet performance requirements.
- Coordinate the prototyping and testing of designs to ensure functionality, safety and durability.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues during prototype testing and improve design based on feedback.
- Work closely with production, manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth implementation of designs.
- Coordinate with the R&D team to develop new technology and integrate it into machine designs.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in textile machinery and incorporate them into designs.
- Prepare detailed design reports, user manuals and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of design iterations and changes to ensure proper project management.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A Master's degree or additional certifications in machine design is a plus.
- Proven experience of 4-6+ years as a Design Engineer in textile machinery or industrial machinery manufacturing
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge or SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 2D/3D modelling and design.
- Experience in prototyping, testing and iterating designs.
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
