Astronomy Teacher (Workshop Specialist)

About the Role
Nosegay Public School is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Astronomy Teacher who can inspire students through engaging classroom sessions and hands-on astronomy workshops. The ideal candidate should be capable of simplifying complex scientific concepts and creating exciting learning experiences through practical demonstrations, sky observation sessions, and STEM-based activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach astronomy concepts to students across different grade levels.
- Plan and conduct interactive astronomy workshops and STEM activities.
- Organize night sky observation sessions using telescopes (where applicable).
- Demonstrate the use of astronomical equipment and software.
- Prepare engaging presentations, models, and practical activities.
- Coordinate astronomy events, exhibitions, science fairs, and competitions.
- Encourage scientific thinking and curiosity among students.
- Collaborate with the science department for interdisciplinary projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Science, or a related field.
- Certification or experience in astronomy education will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct workshops for students.
Experience
- 1–5 years of teaching or workshop experience preferred.
- Fresh candidates with exceptional astronomy knowledge and presentation skills may also apply.
