Job Purpose
The HSE Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable legal regulations. The role focuses on preventing workplace incidents, protecting employees, contractors, visitors, and the environment, and promoting a strong safety culture across all oil and gas operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety Management
- Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and international HSE standards.
- Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Verify the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessment activities.
- Monitor hazardous work including:
- Hot Work
- Confined Space Entry
- Working at Height
- Lifting Operations
- Excavation Activities
- Electrical Isolation (LOTO)
Incident Investigation
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and property damage.
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare incident investigation reports.
- Track implementation of corrective actions.
Safety Inspections & Audits
- Conduct routine workplace inspections.
- Participate in internal and external HSE audits.
- Monitor contractor safety performance.
- Verify compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct HSE induction for new employees and contractors.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Organize emergency drills and awareness campaigns.
- Promote a positive safety culture among employees.
Emergency Preparedness
- Assist in developing emergency response plans.
- Participate in emergency drills.
- Ensure emergency equipment is available and maintained.
- Coordinate during emergency situations.
Environmental Management
- Monitor waste segregation and disposal practices.
- Ensure spill prevention and environmental protection measures.
- Monitor emissions, pollution control, and housekeeping standards.
- Promote sustainable environmental practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain HSE records and documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports.
- Maintain inspection checklists and training records.
- Ensure all statutory documents are updated.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- NEBOSH IGC / IOSH Managing Safely (preferred).
- OSHA Certification (preferred).
- Additional Oil & Gas safety certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of HSE experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Construction industry.
- Experience in onshore or offshore projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW) systems and high-risk activities.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of HSE legislation and international standards.

Pay: ₹1,000.00 - ₹1,500.00 per hour
