A Faculty in Logistics works in colleges, universities, or training institutes that offer courses in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The main role is to teach logistics concepts, train students, and guide them for industry careers.
1. Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach subjects related to Logistics and Supply Chain Management, such as:
- Supply Chain Management
- Warehouse Management
- Transportation & Distribution
- Inventory Management
- International Trade & Shipping
- Port and Cargo Management
- Deliver lectures, presentations, and seminars.
- Prepare study materials, assignments, and course plans.
2. Practical Training
- Train students on logistics software and industry practices.
- Conduct case studies, simulations, and project-based learning.
- Organize industrial visits to warehouses, ports, and logistics companies.
3. Student Evaluation
- Conduct exams, quizzes, and practical assessments.
- Evaluate projects, reports, and presentations.
- Guide students in internships and final-year projects.
4. Research and Industry Updates
- Stay updated with latest logistics technologies and supply chain trends.
- Participate in research, workshops, and conferences.
- Collaborate with logistics companies for training programs.
5. Administrative Duties
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Attend faculty meetings and academic committees.
- Help with student placement activities and career guidance.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations
- Good communication and teaching skills
- Understanding of warehouse systems and transport management

Qualification (Usually Required in India)
- MBA in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
- Or Master’s degree in Logistics / Operations Management
- Industry experience in logistics is often preferred.
