The Role
As Sales Manager – Embedded Software Tools, you will lead GSAS's embedded software business across India — owning revenue targets, customer relationships, and market development for a portfolio that spans compilers and toolchains, real-time operating systems, static analysis and code quality platforms, unit and integration testing frameworks, and safety-certified middleware. You'll work with engineering leaders building safety-critical, real-time, and performance-sensitive embedded systems to position the right software tools for their development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Own the full sales cycle for GSAS's embedded software portfolio — from lead generation and technical discovery through demo coordination, commercial negotiation, and closure. Drive revenue through structured prospecting, pipeline management, and strategic account planning.
Build and grow key accounts across automotive, aerospace & defense, industrial automation, medical electronics, and semiconductor verticals. Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts — new teams, new projects, compliance-driven upgrades — and convert them into recurring revenue.
Collaborate closely with Field Application Engineers to deliver technically credible presentations, proof-of-concept evaluations, and competitive benchmarks. Ensure seamless handoff between sales engagement and post-sales technical enablement.
Develop territory-level strategies that align GSAS's software portfolio with market trends — the shift toward safety certification (ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 62304), growing RTOS adoption, secure coding mandates, and the transition from legacy 8-bit to modern 32-bit ARM architectures.
Represent GSAS at industry events, partner roadshows, technical conferences, and customer workshops to build brand credibility and pipeline in the embedded software space.
Maintain rigorous CRM discipline using Zoho or Salesforce — accurate pipeline data, reliable forecasting, structured lead nurturing, and documented competitive intelligence.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development, technical pre-sales, or application engineering. You've written C/C++ for microcontrollers, configured an RTOS, used a debugger to find a hard fault, or set up a static analysis tool — ideally more than one of these.
Working proficiency in C/C++ for embedded targets, with practical experience on ARM Cortex architectures. Familiarity with at least one RTOS (FreeRTOS, embOS, ThreadX, QNX, or similar) and at least one static analysis or testing tool.
Understanding of functional safety and compliance standards — ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 61508/62304, MISRA C — and how development tools support certification workflows (tool qualification, traceability, coverage analysis).
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering and management audiences. You can whiteboard an RTOS task scheduling scenario for a developer and explain the business case for static analysis adoption to a VP of Engineering.
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline. Willingness to travel for customer demos, training workshops, and industry events.
A role at the center of India's embedded software ecosystem — where you'll shape how engineering teams across automotive, aerospace, defense, and industrial domains choose and adopt their most critical development tools. You'll represent a portfolio of globally recognized software brands and work with a team that values technical depth and commercial rigor in equal measure. Competitive compensation with performance-linked incentives, clear career progression, and the opportunity to build a market from the ground up.
