Key Job Responsibilities of a Security Personnel
A security personnel is responsible for maintaining safety, order, and protection of people, property, and assets within the assigned premises. The key responsibilities include:
- Access Control
- Monitor and control the entry and exit of persons, vehicles, and materials into the premises.
- Patrolling the Premises
Regularly patrol the assigned area to detect suspicious activity, security breaches, or safety hazards.Keep accurate records of visitors, incidents, duty logs, and any unusual occurrences during the shift.Observe CCTV cameras, alarms, and other security systems to ensure proper functioning and report faults immediately.Ensure that unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas or engage in illegal or unsafe activities.Immediately report emergencies, theft, damage, fire, fights, or any suspicious behavior to the supervisor or relevant authorities.Provide guidance, directions, and basic assistance to staff, visitors, and customers when needed.Act quickly during fire, medical emergencies, disturbances, or security threats and follow emergency procedures.Help enforce safety rules, company policies, and site regulations at all times.Remain alert, disciplined, courteous, and properly uniformed while on duty.Safeguard equipment, documents, vehicles, and other valuable property from theft, misuse, or damage.Work closely with supervisors, management, and law enforcement when necessary to maintain security standards.
