Job Summary
The Commis III – Continental is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of continental dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen safety. The role involves supporting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and ensuring timely food production according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of continental menu items as per standard recipes.
- Perform basic food preparation tasks, including cutting, chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
- Ensure ingredients and mise en place are prepared before service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation at all times.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per company policies.
- Properly store food items and monitor product freshness and shelf life.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies.
- Minimize food wastage and report shortages or quality issues to senior chefs.
- Support the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and use kitchen equipment safely.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate/Diploma in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in a continental kitchen.
- Basic knowledge of continental cuisine, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food hygiene and HACCP practices.
