About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on experience with accounting systems, and the ability to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.
This role requires a professional who can independently manage accounting activities while working closely with finance, operations, auditors, and business stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and bookkeeping.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor reconciliations.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare MIS reports and financial summaries for management review.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Professional Tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal, statutory, and tax audits.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor asset capitalization.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
- Support finance leadership with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting and Finance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com); M.Com, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent qualifications will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Tally ERP, ERP systems, or other accounting software.
- Good understanding of GST, TDS, statutory compliances, and taxation processes.
- Experience in bank reconciliations, vendor management, and ledger scrutiny.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Bonus Points
- Experience working in Education, Skill Development, NGO, Service Industry, or Government-funded projects.
- Exposure to ERP implementation or process automation initiatives.
- Experience handling multi-location accounting operations.
- Familiarity with financial controls, compliance frameworks, and audit processes.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a purely data-entry or transactional accounting role. We are looking for an accounting professional who can take ownership of financial accuracy, compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and process improvements while contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance function.
