Job Title: Hospital Assistant Technician – X-Ray & CT
Job Summary:
The Assistant Technician for X-Ray and CT supports the radiology team in performing diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves preparing patients, assisting senior technicians, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety and radiation protocols. The assistant technician plays a crucial role in providing smooth and efficient imaging services within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technicians in operating X-Ray and CT imaging equipment.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Follow radiation safety protocols and hospital guidelines to minimize exposure.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of radiology equipment.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients and correct imaging parameters under guidance.
- Maintain accurate patient records, logs, and documentation of procedures.
- Help manage the workflow of the radiology department efficiently.
- Support infection control and hygiene standards within the imaging area.
- Report any technical issues or equipment malfunctions to senior staff promptly.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certification in Radiography, Medical Imaging Technology, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of X-Ray and CT imaging procedures.
- Familiarity with radiation safety and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work under supervision and assist senior staff efficiently.
- Good communication, organizational, and patient-handling skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to assist patients physically when needed.
- Comfortable standing and moving around during imaging procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and hospital records systems.
- Basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
- Teamwork and willingness to learn advanced imaging techniques from senior staff.
