Position: Chief – Projects Department

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to the Projects Department and oversee multiple civil and infrastructure projects simultaneously.
- Lead the planning, design, execution, monitoring, and completion of major campus development and building construction projects.
- Oversee construction of academic buildings, administrative blocks, hostels, residential facilities, sports facilities, hospitals, laboratories, and other institutional infrastructure.
- Review and approve project plans, architectural designs, structural drawings, BOQs, estimates, specifications, and technical proposals.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, quality standards, and overall project deliverables.
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, contractors, project management consultants, vendors, and government authorities.
- Ensure projects are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Monitor construction progress through regular site reviews and ensure timely resolution of technical and execution-related issues.
- Review project costs, tenders, contracts, variations, work orders, and contractor performance.
- Ensure effective cost control and optimum utilisation of project resources.
- Handle project planning, tendering, contractor selection, negotiations, execution, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, development regulations, fire and safety requirements, environmental norms, and statutory approvals.
- Liaise with relevant government and local authorities for permissions, approvals, NOCs, and regulatory compliances.
- Establish and implement project monitoring systems, reporting mechanisms, quality-control processes, and project governance standards.
- Identify potential project risks, delays, cost escalations, and technical challenges and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Lead and mentor a team of project managers, civil engineers, architects, site engineers, and other technical professionals.
- Present project status, budgets, timelines, risks, and major decisions to Senior Management/University Leadership.
- Drive timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, functionality, aesthetics, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee renovation, refurbishment, expansion, maintenance-related capital projects, and redevelopment initiatives as required.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, records, drawings, approvals, contracts, and completion reports.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
- M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field will be an advantage.
- Professional certifications in Project Management/Construction Management will be preferred.
Experience
- 20+ years of overall experience in Civil Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure Development, and Project Management.
- Significant experience in handling large-scale building and infrastructure projects from conceptualisation to completion.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously with substantial budgets and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in institutional, educational, healthcare, residential, commercial, or large campus development projects will be highly preferred.
- Strong experience in senior leadership/project management roles with responsibility for end-to-end project delivery.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹270,000.00 per month
