Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Commis I / Commis II specializing in Chinese and Continental cuisine to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in food preparation, cooking, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring hygiene while supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Chinese and Continental dishes as per standardized recipes.
- Assist in daily mise en place and kitchen preparation.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene as per food safety standards.
- Properly store and label food items to minimize wastage.
- Monitor stock levels and inform seniors about inventory requirements.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow SOPs and instructions from the CDP, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.
- Support the team during peak service hours to ensure timely food delivery.
- Maintain discipline, teamwork, and professionalism in the kitchen.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience as a Commis I or Commis II in Chinese & Continental cuisine.
- Good knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, sauces, wok cooking, and Continental preparations.
- Ability to prepare starters, main courses, soups, sauces, and accompaniments.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and rotational shifts.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
