Job Summary
The Fire Fighting & Fire Hydrant Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, supervision, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire fighting and fire hydrant systems. The role involves ensuring that all installations comply with approved drawings, statutory regulations, and relevant fire safety standards while coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors for timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation of Fire Hydrant, Sprinkler, Hose Reel, Wet Riser, Downcomer, and Fire Pump systems.
- Review approved drawings, BOQs, specifications, and shop drawings before execution.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and ELV teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is completed as per approved drawings and project timelines.
- Inspect and verify the quality of pipes, valves, fittings, pumps, and other fire protection equipment before installation.
- Conduct pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, flushing, and commissioning of fire fighting systems.
- Ensure proper installation and alignment of fire pumps, jockey pumps, diesel pumps, and control panels.
- Coordinate with consultants and clients during inspections and obtain necessary approvals.
- Prepare daily progress reports, material reconciliation reports, and work completion reports.
- Identify site issues and provide technical solutions to avoid delays.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, NBC, IS Codes, and local Fire Department requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, handover, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare as-built drawings and final project documentation.

Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- 5–7 years of experience in Fire Fighting and Fire Hydrant system installation and commissioning.
- Experience in commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, industrial facilities, or government projects is preferred.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings.
- Knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Good understanding of fire protection equipment and piping systems.
- Strong site supervision and contractor management skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic calculations.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards (preferred).
- Experience in obtaining approvals from Fire Department authorities.
- Experience in testing and commissioning of complete fire protection systems.
