We are looking for a proactive Criminal Law Intern to support our legal team in matters related to criminal law, investigations, regulatory compliance, and legal risk management.
Role Overview
As a Criminal Law Intern, you will assist the legal team in handling legal research, case documentation, regulatory matters, and criminal law-related proceedings. This internship offers hands-on exposure to criminal litigation, legal compliance, investigations, and corporate legal risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on criminal laws, procedural laws, and relevant judicial precedents.
- Assist in drafting legal notices, complaints, replies, affidavits, petitions, and other legal documents.
- Support the legal team in matters involving fraud, cybercrime, financial crimes, and corporate misconduct.
- Review and organize case files, evidence records, witness statements, and legal documentation.
- Track ongoing legal proceedings and maintain accurate records of court dates and case developments.
- Assist in preparing case summaries, legal opinions, and research reports.
- Coordinate with external advocates, law firms, and legal consultants when required.
- Support internal investigations and fact-finding exercises related to legal disputes.
- Research developments in criminal law, cyber law, white-collar crimes, and regulatory enforcement.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive legal information.
What We're Looking For
- Pursuing or completed LLB/LLM or an equivalent law degree.
- Strong interest in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Cyber Law, and White-Collar Crime.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to review complex legal documents and identify key legal issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Prior internship experience in litigation, criminal law practice, or legal chambers is preferred but not mandatory.
- Availability to work full-time or part-time as required.
