Role Overview
We are looking for an energetic, creative, and fast-moving Video Editor to spearhead our visual presence on social media. You will craft high-retention short-form videos (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, YouTube videos, and ad creatives) that explain scholarship eligibility, application step-by-steps, deadline alerts, and career tips.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Editing: Edit highly engaging short-form (Reels/Shorts) and long-form YouTube videos on scholarship alerts, entrance exam updates, and college application guides.
- Visual Storytelling & Motion Graphics: Apply kinetic typography, dynamic text overlays, animated callouts, lower thirds, and sound effects (SFX) to retain student attention.
- Hook & Retention Optimization: Structure footage and visuals using strong visual hooks, jump cuts, and fast-paced editing tailored for Gen-Z and student audiences.
- Audio & Visual Polish: Clean up voiceover audio, integrate background music, and balance audio levels for clear clarity.
- Ad & Campaign Creatives: Collaborate with the growth team to design conversion-focused video ads for social media campaigns.
- Trend Awareness: Stay up to date with social media editing styles, viral audio trends, meme formats, and EdTech content strategies.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of video editing experience (EdTech, YouTube creators, or agency background preferred).
- Portfolio / Reel: A portfolio showcasing strong short-form edits, text animation, and educational or informational content.
- Software Proficiency:
- Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro
- Adobe After Effects (for motion graphics and custom animations)
- CapCut Desktop / Photoshop / Canva (for rapid edits and thumbnail creation)
- Design Sense: Strong grasp of visual pacing, typography, color grading, and framing.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to meet tight deadlines around urgent scholarship announcements and news cycles.
