Job Description For Import Accounting:
1. Import Accounting:
● Knowledge of the Customs Act, 1962.
● Accurately book import purchases and expenses in Tally as per CBIC provisions.
● Maintain import costings in Google Sheets.
● Familiarity with the Customs Bill of Entry system and ability to calculate customs duty.
● Use ICEGATE to reconcile the Bill of Entry and ensure compliance.
● Enter import-related data into Tally, handling IGST input and tallying with ICEGATE data.
● Verify and audit invoices from CHA, CFS, shipping lines, and transporters.
● File E-Way Bills for incoming import containers to various locations.
● Proficiency with high seas sales and purchases documentation.
● Manage accounting for import licenses (MEIS, ROSCTL, RODTEP).
● Implement forex hedging strategies and maintain accurate records.
● Physically file import documents as per checklist.
2. TDS Compliance & Bookkeeping:
● Knowledge of TDS & TCS provisions.
● Handle TDS deductions and compliance for import-related service providers (transporters, CHAs, freight
forwarders).
● Ensure proper TDS deductions per Income Tax rules.
● Manage TDS for cold storages, chartered accountants, and legal advisors.
● Monthly TDS/TCS payments.
● Prepare quarterly TDS/TCS returns.
● Maintain proper records and physical files of TDS/TCS deductions.
3. GST Compliances & Book Keeping
● Handle all GST compliances: monthly, quarterly, and annual GST return filings.
● Knowledge of GST Act and rules.
● Experience with GST compliances: GSTR-1, GSTR-2A, GSTR-3B, etc.
● Generate E-invoices.
● Monthly reconcile GST input from vendors using GSTR 2B.
● Reconcile ledger accounts with all parties.
● Conduct GST Audit R 9 and obtain department clearance.
● Cross-check and reconcile GST input 2A monthly and quarterly.
● Maintain proper records and filing of expense bills and documents.
● Comply with TDS, GST, and other statutory requirements for state sales and purchases.
Requirements:
● For a Senior Accountant position, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
● Prefer candidates with a Master's degree or professional certification such as CPA
(Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
● Proven 6 years of experience working as an Accountant or in a similar role.
● Strong knowledge of Import policies, accounting principles & practices, Regular updation,
rules and regulations of accounts, finance GST & Income TAX.
● Proficiency in financial analysis, stock accounting, labour law and compliances.
● Proficient in using accounting software (Tally Prime), MS Office suite and Google sheets.
● Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
