Document ControllerRole Summary
The Document Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate document control procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle. The role supports design teams and project stakeholders by maintaining up-to-date records, drawings, specifications, submissions, approvals, and correspondence.
Key Responsibilities1. Document Control & Management
- Establish and maintain document control systems for architecture and interior design projects.
- Manage the receipt, registration, distribution, filing, and archiving of project documents.
- Ensure all drawings, material submissions, technical documents, and revisions are accurately recorded and updated.
- Maintain version control and ensure teams are working from the latest approved documents.
- Track document status, including submissions, approvals, comments, and revisions.
- Coordinate the controlled distribution and sharing of documents with internal teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
2. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, interior designers, project managers, consultants, suppliers, and contractors regarding document submissions and approvals.
- Prepare and issue transmittals for drawings and project-related documentation.
- Monitor deadlines and follow up on outstanding approvals or documentation requirements.
- Support project teams with the retrieval of documents and historical project records.
- Act as the liaison between project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Systems & Reporting
- Maintain project folders and document registers in accordance with company procedures.
- Generate reports on document status, pending approvals, and submission logs.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and document management processes.
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of ERP and document management systems.
- Route documents for review, approval, and distribution, ensuring stakeholders follow standardized procedures.
4. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure confidentiality and security of project information and records.
- Maintain organized digital and physical archives of project documentation.
- Assist with internal audits and document reviews when required.
- Ensure document retention practices align with company standards.
- Promote adherence to document control procedures across cross-functional teams through clear communication and coordination.
RequirementsExperience
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Document Controller within Architecture, Interior Design, Construction, Engineering, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of design documentation processes and drawing management.
- Experience with project documentation, submittals, RFIs, specifications, and revision control.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with document management systems and ERP platforms is advantageous.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM platforms, Procore, Aconex, Asite, or similar systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience supporting multidisciplinary design and construction teams is preferred.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
