About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Software Development
Engineer in Test (Associate SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team. This role is ideal
for early-career engineers who are passionate about software quality, automation, and
continuous learning.
As an Associate SDET, you'll contribute to building reliable automated tests that help deliver
high-quality financial software. From your first few weeks, you'll write production-quality
automation code, learn modern testing frameworks, and collaborate with Software Engineers
(SEs), Quality Engineers (QEs), and experienced SDETs to develop scalable, maintainable
test solutions.
You'll work in an engineering culture where automation code is held to the same standards as
application code, and AI-assisted development is part of the everyday workflow. Your
success will be measured not only by what you build, but also by how quickly you learn,
adapt, and grow.
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation
- Develop and maintain automated test cases for web applications, APIs, and backend
services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reliable automation code using existing testing
frameworks.
- Execute automated regression and functional test suites.
- Ensure automation is stable, reusable, and free from flaky behaviour.
Quality Engineering
- Analyse failed test executions and determine whether failures are caused by
application defects or automation issues.
- Report software defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Validate application functionality against documented requirements and API
contracts.
- Contribute to improving automation coverage for new features and enhancements.
CI/CD & Development Practices
- Execute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines and understand how testing supports
software releases.
- Follow engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, and
continuous integration.
- Keep pull requests focused, well-tested, and easy to review.
- Maintain secure handling of test data by ensuring no production data or sensitive information is exposed.
AI-Assisted Development
- Use AI-powered development tools to accelerate test creation, debugging, and
troubleshooting.
- Validate AI-generated code before committing changes.
- Continuously explore new AI-assisted testing techniques to improve productivity and software quality.
Collaboration & Learning
- Work closely with Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, and senior SDETs
throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews.
- Raise blockers early and communicate progress proactively.
- Improve framework documentation and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software
Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in Software Testing, Test Automation, or Software
- Understanding of software testing concepts and the Software Development Life Cycle
(SDLC).
- Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and API testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Eagerness to learn modern automation tools and engineering practices.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Awareness of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Interest in AI-assisted software development and intelligent test automation.
