About the Role
We're looking for a Mid-Level Project Manager to lead new restaurant openings, remodels, and renovation projects from planning through launch. You'll coordinate general contractors, architects, equipment vendors, franchise/brand standards teams, and internal operations staff to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to brand specification. This role suits someone who thrives on juggling multiple sites at once and enjoys the mix of construction logistics, vendor negotiation, and hands-on problem-solving that comes with opening or refreshing restaurant locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end project timelines for new restaurant builds, remodels, and refreshes, from site handoff to grand opening.
- Coordinate general contractors, architects, engineers, and specialty vendors (kitchen equipment, signage, furniture, POS/IT) to keep projects on schedule.
- Track project budgets, review contractor bids and change orders, and flag cost overruns to leadership.
- Ensure all locations meet brand design standards, health code requirements, and local permitting/zoning regulations.
- Serve as the main point of contact between corporate teams, landlords/property managers, and on-site construction teams.
- Manage permit applications, inspections, and utility/equipment installation scheduling.
- Coordinate FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment) procurement and delivery timing with construction milestones.
- Partner with operations and training teams to align construction completion with staffing, inventory, and opening-day readiness.
- Conduct regular site walkthroughs to monitor quality, safety, and progress against schedule.
- Maintain project documentation, including budgets, schedules, punch lists, and vendor contracts.
- Troubleshoot on-site issues quickly to avoid delays to opening dates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Hospitality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of project management experience, ideally in restaurant, retail, or hospitality construction/development.
- Working knowledge of construction processes, permitting, and commercial kitchen/equipment requirements.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across different locations.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Procore, or similar).
- Strong vendor negotiation, budgeting, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-unit restaurant openings or franchise rollout programs.
- Familiarity with the health department and ADA compliance requirements for food service.
- Background working directly with restaurant operators or franchisees.
