MYP Music, Band and Instrumental Teacher
Specialisation: Brass, Woodwind & Percussion
Pathways School Gurgaon is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic MYP Music, Band and Instrumental Teacher with strong expertise in brass, woodwind and percussion.
The role involves teaching MYP Music, including performance, composition, music theory, listening and analysis, while planning and assessing lessons in line with the MYP framework. The teacher will lead and develop the school’s concert band, marching band and drum corps, taking responsibility for rehearsals, drill, recruitment, musical preparation and performances.
The successful candidate will teach mixed-instrument classes using the American Band Method, provide individual and small-group instrumental tuition, prepare students for graded examinations, and arrange music for ensembles and school productions. Experience directing live bands for large-scale productions, concerts, assemblies, parades and competitions is essential.
Key Requirements:
- Recognised qualification in Music/Music Education
- Experience teaching IB MYP Music or comparable curriculum
- Strong proficiency across brass, woodwind and percussion
- Experience conducting concert/marching bands and drum corps
- Skills in composition, orchestration and musical arrangement
- Proficiency in Sibelius, Dorico or Finale
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- IB workshop certification and examination-board experience are advantageous
