The PRT & TGT – English will teach English Language to Classes (I–VIII) through a no-textbook, theme-based, experiential learning approach, aligned with CBSE learning outcomes. The teacher will design meaningful, interdisciplinary learning experiences that develop language skills, creativity, curiosity, confidence, and values. In a residential school setting, the teacher will also support students’ holistic development, emotional well-being, discipline, and independence.
Key Responsibilities Academic Responsibilities
- Teach English using a theme-based, integrated, and experiential learning model
- Design and deliver concept-driven lessons without dependency on prescribed textbooks
- Create learning modules, worksheets, activities, projects, storytelling sessions, and language labs
- Build strong foundations in:
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
- Listening
- Vocabulary
- Grammar in context
- Integrate English learning with art, music, drama, environment, life skills, and values education
- Use ICT tools, smart classrooms, visual aids, manipulatives, library resources, and real-life contexts
- Implement project-based learning (PBL) and inquiry-based approaches
- Conduct continuous assessments through observation, portfolios, rubrics, presentations, and performances
- Provide individualised support, remedial instruction, and enrichment activities
- Maintain academic documentation, lesson plans, learning trackers, and student portfolios
- Align learning outcomes with CBSE competencies and NEP 2020 principles
Residential & Pastoral Responsibilities
- Support students’ emotional development, confidence-building, independence, and discipline
- Supervise study hours, prep time, and structured evening learning activities
- Ensure adherence to hostel routines, safety standards, and school values
- Build trusting, nurturing relationships with students in a residential environment
Institutional Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with parents through meetings
- Participate in school assemblies, exhibitions, learning fairs, clubs, events, and trips
- Contribute to curriculum design, theme planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Attend training programs, workshops, and professional development sessions
- Promote a progressive, child-centric, values-based school culture
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in English / Education / Humanities
- B.Ed. – mandatory
- Experience in progressive education models, experiential learning, or theme-based pedagogy preferred
- Prior experience in a residential/boarding school will be an advantage
