Position: Optometrist
Job Summary:
An optometrist is a healthcare professional who examines, diagnoses, and manages vision problems and certain eye conditions. They prescribe corrective lenses, provide vision therapy, educate patients on eye health, and refer patients to ophthalmologists or other specialists when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and eye health.
- Diagnose vision disorders such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
- Detect and manage eye diseases and conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision correction solutions.
- Educate patients on eye care, vision health, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
- Use diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, tonometers, and retinal imaging devices.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for patient referrals and treatment plans.
- Stay updated on advances in optometry and eye care practices.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or equivalent qualification.
- Valid optometry license/registration as required by local regulations.
- Strong knowledge of ocular diseases, vision correction methods, and diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.

- Experience in contact lens fitting and specialty lenses.
