Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to oversee our plant, heavy equipment, and mechanical systems across active infrastructure sites. You will be responsible for keeping critical civil construction machinery operational, managing site utilities, reducing breakdown downtime, and aligning equipment readiness with project schedules.
Full Job Description & Key Responsibilities
- Plant & Heavy Equipment Operations:
- Manage preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance for heavy machinery (e.g., piling rigs, hydraulic excavators, batching plants, transit mixers, micro-piling units, generators, and grout pumps).
- Monitor equipment health, fuel efficiency, operational hours, and overall plant performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex hydraulic, pneumatic, transmission, and diesel engine issues directly on site.
- Site Mechanical Utilities & Execution:
- Supervise mechanical installations including site dewatering setups, slurry pumps, temporary piping, and power generation systems.
- Coordinate with civil site managers and site engineers to ensure equipment availability aligns with project timelines.
- Review mechanical drawings, utility layouts, and technical documentation.
- Vendor & Inventory Management:
- Source, negotiate, and coordinate with vendors for machinery spare parts, lubricants, and specialized mechanical rentals.
- Maintain optimum spare parts inventory to ensure quick turnaround during equipment breakdowns.
Required Qualifications
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience:
- 3 to 6 years for B.Tech graduates in civil construction/infrastructure projects.
- 5 to 8 years for Diploma holders in civil infrastructure equipment maintenance.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in heavy hydraulic systems, diesel engine mechanics, pneumatic systems, and structural mechanical components.
- Software Skills: Basic AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel), and asset management software proficiency.
- Work Location: Willingness to work on project sites and travel as required by operational needs.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
