About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Master Editor in English who can independently handle translation, language editing, manuscript refinement, and final content approval for books.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent command over English language, deep editorial judgement, and the ability to transform translated or draft manuscripts into publication ready books while preserving the author’s voice and intent.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate books/manuscripts into high quality English from Hindi / Marathi (or review translated content)
- Edit and refine manuscripts for clarity, readability, tone, grammar, flow, and consistency
- Ensure content quality aligns with publishing standards and brand voice
- Perform substantive editing, copy editing, and language polishing
- Review translated manuscripts to maintain original meaning and emotional tone
- Coordinate with authors, translators, and editorial teams during manuscript development
- Finalize content before typesetting and publication
- Ensure consistency in terminology, formatting, and editorial style across books
Required Skills
- Excellent command of written English
- Strong translation and editing capability (Hindi to English / Marathi to English preferred)
- Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, readability, and storytelling flow
- Prior experience in book publishing / manuscript editing preferred
- Ability to independently improve rough drafts and translated content
- Strong attention to detail and editorial judgement
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience editing self help, spirituality, psychology, productivity, or non fiction books will be preferred
- Familiarity with translation adaptation rather than literal translation
- Passion for books and reading
Qualification
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Mass Communication, Translation Studies, or related field preferred.

Candidates should have the ability to independently translate, edit, refine, and improve manuscripts using their own language expertise. While AI tools may be used for support or efficiency, the final work must reflect human editorial excellence, contextual understanding, and publishing quality standards.
Applicants may be asked to complete a manual editing and translation assessment as part of the selection process.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
