About CI Lab: We are a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research lab. Our mission is to design, create, and
evaluate interactive tools and experiences that enhance human capabilities and imagination. The primary
focus of our research is on User Experience and Interaction Design, with a strong emphasis on Tangible User
Interfaces and XR. While we enthusiastically welcome a diverse array of bold and imaginative approaches,

HCI technologies. The Creative Interfaces Lab is a part of the Department of Human-Centered Design at IIIT
Delhi and is also supported by the Center for Design and New Media (CDNM).
Responsibilities of a PhD:
- Contribute to research, design, and development of XR technologies.
- Conduct rigorous experiments and write high-quality academic papers.
- The candidate will be required to work as a Teaching Assistant and undergo regular academic
courses
- Mentoring UG/PG students’ projects
- Engagements in any other lab activities from time to time.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, proactively.
Qualification (M.Tech/M.Des or B.Tech/ B.Des) - A master's degree M.Tech/ B.Tech in Computer Science,
HCI, or related fields; OR, M.Des/ B.Des in Design (Interaction Design/ HCI/ Usability Engineering).
Project Description: We are seeking a creative, driven professional to join an exciting project exploring
the convergence of Generative AI (GenAI) and Augmented Reality (AR) for Culture & Heritage
Applications. Funded by IIT Mandi iHub and HCi Foundation and carried out in collaboration with
GRAHAs VR®, this initiative aims to create innovative digital experiences that enhance cultural
engagement, storytelling, and heritage preservation through cutting-edge immersive technologies.
The selected candidate will be involved in conceptualizing and designing culture and heritage
applications that integrate immersive AR experiences with GenAI capabilities. Responsibilities include
designing intuitive UI/UX for AR and GenAI applications, developing and testing prototypes in
Figma/Unity, and contributing to research publications, prototype development, and technology
deployments. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence,
