About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end hardware design for IoT/IIoT/AIoT gateways, embedded systems, and industrial automation products.
The role involves working from system requirements/block diagrams to schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, certification, and production handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog, digital, power, protection, RF and embedded hardware circuits.
- Convert system/block-level requirements into detailed schematics, interfaces, connectors and PCB designs.
- Work on IoT/IIoT gateways, edge devices and industrial automation controllers.
- Select processors/SoMs, sensors and communication interfaces such as Wi-Fi, BLE, Cellular, LoRa, Ethernet, RS-485 and Modbus.
- Perform power budget, thermal, signal integrity and design-margin analysis.
- Handle PCB layout, component libraries, BOM optimization and second-source components.
- Support prototype development, board bring-up, debugging and hardware validation.
- Define and execute functional, environmental, EMI/EMC and reliability testing.
- Work with certification labs and support compliance requirements such as CE, FCC, BIS, IEC, UL, RoHS/REACH.
- Troubleshoot field/production issues and perform RCA and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Firmware, Mechanical, Product, Quality and Manufacturing teams.
- Prepare and maintain design, testing, DFM/DFMEA and certification documentation.
Required Skills
- 4–8+ years of hands-on hardware design experience.
- Strong experience in Analog, Digital, Power Electronics and Embedded Hardware Design.
- Hands-on experience with Altium Designer and/or OrCAD.
- Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and component library management.
- Experience in MCU/MPU/SoM-based embedded product design.
- Good understanding of EMI/EMC, ESD, surge protection and thermal management.
- Experience with prototype development, board bring-up, debugging and testing.
- Ability to work across the complete hardware product lifecycle:
- Concept → Schematic → PCB → Prototype → Validation → Certification → Production
Good to Have
- Experience in IoT / IIoT / AIoT / Industrial Automation products.
- Embedded Linux / SoM/SoC bring-up, Device Tree, BSP or kernel drivers.
- SPICE-based circuit simulation and signal/power integrity tools.
- Experience with RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet, LoRa, Cellular, Wi-Fi/BLE.
- Experience with industrial communication, sensors and instrumentation.
- Exposure to CE/FCC/BIS/IEC/UL certification.
