A Room Boy (also known as a Room Attendant or Housekeeping Staff) is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort of guest rooms, bathrooms, and corridors to hotel standards. They act as a key contact for guests, requiring a polite and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks
- Room Cleaning: Clean, sanitize, and service guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, and replacing used towels daily.
- Deep Cleaning: Dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, polishing fixtures, and sanitizing bathroom surfaces (toilets, sinks, showers).
- Restocking: Replenish room amenities such as soaps, shampoos, tea/coffee supplies, minibar items, and water bottles.
- Maintenance Reporting: Inspect rooms for damage, broken appliances, or plumbing issues and promptly report them to the supervisor.
- Guest Service: Handle guest requests promptly (e.g., providing extra pillows, iron board), handle lost-and-found items, and maintain guest privacy.
- Public Areas: Maintain cleanliness in corridors, linen rooms, and common areas.
- Safety & Hygiene: Follow all safety guidelines for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 6 month –3 years of experience in housekeeping or hospitality.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long hours, bend, and lift heavy items (linen, mattresses).
- Education: Minimum 8th/10th pass, often preferred.
- Salary: Generally ranges from ₹10,000 to ₹13,000 per month
- 9 hours duty and Accommodation and food facilities will also be available
