Job Summary
Jay Air Systems Private Limited is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Programmer & Operator to join our Production Department. The candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC Plasma Cutting Machines to manufacture sheet metal components accurately according to engineering drawings while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create CNC programs for plasma cutting machines based on engineering drawings and production requirements.
- Set up and operate CNC Plasma Cutting Machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, DXF files, and production specifications.
- Optimize nesting to minimize material wastage and improve productivity.
- Select appropriate cutting parameters, gas settings, and consumables.
- Monitor cutting quality and make program adjustments as required.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and edge quality.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and replace consumables when required.
- Troubleshoot programming and machine-related issues.
- Maintain production records and machine documentation.
- Coordinate with the Production, Design, and Quality teams to ensure timely completion of jobs.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain housekeeping in the work area.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CNC Plasma Programming and Machine Operation.
- Experience with nesting software and DXF file handling.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and sheet metal fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of cutting parameters, material types, and sheet thickness.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Steel Scale, and Measuring Tape.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, Production Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in CNC Plasma Programming and Machine Operation.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or HVAC manufacturing will be preferred.
- Knowledge of nesting software and CNC controller programming.
