Experience: Minimum 2 Years. Experience in Shipbuilding Industry is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Grind, smooth, and prepare metal surfaces of hulls, decks, and structural components to meet required finish standards before welding, painting, or coating.
- Remove weld spatter, excess weld material, and surface defects using angle grinders, disc grinders, and pneumatic tools to achieve smooth and uniform weld profiles.
- Identify and remove rust, mill scale, old paint, and corrosion from metal structures using grinding and abrasive tools to prepare surfaces for protective coatings.
- Grind and dress metal components to precise dimensions and tolerances as per engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Operate and maintain grinding machines, angle grinders, bench grinders, pneumatic grinders, and abrasive tools safely and efficiently ensuring proper upkeep.
- Ensure all ground surfaces meet required quality standards and class society requirements while supporting QC inspectors during surface and weld finish inspections.
- Strictly follow HSE regulations by wearing appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, ear protection, and respirator while complying with hot work and fire watch procedures.
- Work closely with welders, structural fitters, blasters, and supervisors to ensure timely surface readiness and smooth workflow across all production stages.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by properly disposing of grinding debris, used abrasive discs, and metal waste in line with environmental and safety standards.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time in line with organizational objectives, demonstrating proficiency in grinding tools, physical stamina, and a proactive work approach.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
