A Child Behaviour Therapist assesses and treats children with emotional, cognitive, or developmental challenges. They build custom treatment plans using methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help kids regulate emotions, develop social skills, and overcome psychological issues.
Core Responsibilities
- Assessment & Evaluation: Observe children, conduct clinical assessments, and identify triggers or causes for disruptive or harmful behaviors.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and execute individualized treatment plans (ITPs) tailored to the child's age and developmental stage.
- Direct Intervention: Lead individual or group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices like play therapy, CBT, or ABA to manage anxiety, ADHD, or autism-related challenges.
- Family Coaching: Partner with parents and caregivers by providing them with practical strategies and education to reinforce positive behaviors and emotional regulation at home.
- Data Tracking: Keep accurate, objective medical records of session progress and adjust therapeutic techniques based on measured outcomes. [1, 2, 3]
Typical Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Experience: Clinical experience working directly with children, particularly those with neurodivergent needs or mental health challenges.
- Certifications: Depending on your region, licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is highly preferred.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
