Job Title: Lead Clinical AI Programs
About us :
SigTuple builds intelligent screening solutions to aid diagnosis through AI-powered analysis of visual medical data. The flagship AI100 product is an in-vitro diagnostic device that automates manual microscopy using robotics and AI to digitize any biological sample on a glass slide for AI aided remote reporting and analysis.
Job Summary :
SigTuple is an innovative company that builds cutting-edge, microscopy-based diagnostic devices on aggressive timelines. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated lead to join our interdisciplinary team and drive the development of new diagnostic tests across our product portfolio — urine microscopy, Pap smear analysis, peripheral blood smear analysis, microfluidics and microscopy-based CBC, and other tests at the intersection of clinical science, image-based AI, and laboratory workflows.
The Lead, Clinical AI Programs is the connective tissue between our data science team, the pathologist’s team, the clinical operations team, the microfluidics and chemistry team. This role owns the lifecycle of a diagnostic test from clinical definition and feasibility through algorithm development, validation, verification, and release. The ideal candidate combines a strong background in diagnostics with a working understanding of how AI/ML models are built, validated, and deployed in regulated medical device environments.
Responsibilities :
· Drive new test development end-to-end: identify, evaluate, and prioritize new tests; define clinical requirements with pathologists; scope AI work with data science; partner with microfluidics & chemistry on consumables and sample handling.
· Plan, track, and deliver: build development plans, track progress, surface risks early, hit aggressive timelines.
· Coordinate across data science, pathologists, clinical operations, and microfluidics & chemistry.
· Find and resolve issues in current algorithms/approaches; work with concerned teams to root-cause, fix, and re-validate.
· Support validation & verification studies with clinical operations and pathologists.
· Coordinate image annotation, clinical review, and quality review of algorithm outputs with pathologists.
· Step in with clinical operations on sample collection and preparation when timelines require it.
· Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
· Develop SOPs, training material, and process documentation.
· Stay current on diagnostic modalities, AI/ML in medical imaging, and clinical practice
Required Skills & Qualifications :
· Bachelor's or Master's in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related (field not strict).
· Ph.D. in a relevant field (plus, not required).
· 5+ years in diagnostics, medical devices, clinical research, or closely related.
· Cross-functional delivery experience (clinical, scientific, engineering).
· Solid understanding of new product development lifecycles.
· Background in diagnostics — validation, lab workflows, sample handling, or close work with pathologists/clinical ops.
· Strong planning, program management, and stakeholder coordination.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Comfortable with ambiguity, fast pace, aggressive timelines.
Desired Skills :
· Hands-on ML/AI model development or close exposure to data science teams.
· Microscopy-based diagnostics, digital pathology, or image-based AI in a clinical/research setting.
· Validation/verification experience for medical devices or diagnostic products.
· Familiarity with urine microscopy, Pap smear, peripheral blood smear, CBC, or related tests.
· Working knowledge of microfluidics, reagent chemistry, or consumables.
· SOPs, technical documentation, or regulatory submissions experience.
· Prior lead or program-management role bridging clinical, scientific, and engineering teams.
