Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required
- Deep proficiency in MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including advanced query optimization, indexing, triggers, stored procedures, and schema design.
- Strong experience with MongoDB and/or Redis, including document modeling, sharding, replication, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with cloud database platforms such as AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Cosmos DB.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks in high-traffic environments.
- Expertise in designing efficient, scalable schemas for both relational and non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog), ORM frameworks, and ETL processes.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams with developers, DevOps, and product managers.
- Familiarity with database migration strategies between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of containerized database deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).
- Knowledge of database security best practices, encryption, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
